About the Recipe

Kajur is Famous in Bihar. It is also known as Thekhua or Khasta. It is always made in Bihar festival. It's specially cooked at Bihar Famous Festival "Chhath Puja". It's not like by only Bihari, it's favorite of all who has tasted it.So if you haven't tasted then go to your kitchen and cook. You must like it. It's Really teasty and when we go outside also then it is a good recipe to take with us.

Ingredients

  1. Cup used is of 200 ml capacity

  2. wheat flour/fine flour- 2 cup or 300g

  3. Ghee- 4 tbsp

  4. Powdered sugar- 1/2 cup

  5. Desiccated coconut- 1/4 cup

  6. Chopped dry coconut- 1 small bowl

  7. Elaichi or cardamom powder- 1 tsp

  8. Saunf or fennel seeds- 1 tbsp

  9. Milk- 1/2 cup

  10. Ghee or refined oil for frying

Preparation

step1:

For Dough-

take flour and mix 4 tbsp ghee and mix it after that mix powdered sugar, Desiccate coconut, cardamom powder, and fennel seeds, and mix very well with hand. after that put milk in it and make dough but the dough should not be too soft.


 step 2:

For Making the shape of Khajur-

Make a little ball of dough and press it little that it becomes a little flat. Do the same procedure for making all the Khajur


step 3:

Frying Khajur

Put your pan on the stove and put oil or ghee in it for frying. When oil is hot then put Khajur in it but make sure your stove flame.Now fry on low flame. Flip them very carefully and fry them until it both side color change to brown. After that remove it from the oil. You can keep them on tissue that observes extra oil. And Now your kajur is ready. You can serve it.
